Big trees in the backyard look cozy and beautiful but at the same time can be risky. They give coolness on hot summer days, and flowering trees exude a pleasant subtle aroma during blossom time. No private house is complete without trees planted near the house. Important family events take place under their crown, and they become a kind of symbol of the house, distinguishing it from others. In suburban areas, you can often see large and dry trees. Sometimes they hang over the house, risking falling at the slightest breeze. In addition, dry trees are a fire hazard. Tall plants standing alone, not necessarily dry, can also pose a threat.

All these arguments are convincing but we hope they won’t let you change your mind when buying a house surrounded by trees as it has some undeniable advantages:

  • Privacy, absence of noisy neighbors through the wall from above, from below or from the side; 
  • The opportunity to hide from the urban rhythm and bustle; 
  • Environmental friendliness. The air is cleaner, you can keep domestic animals, plant a vegetable garden and eat only organic products; 
  • Parking space; 
  • A large amount of living space.

But if suburban real estate had only advantages, then apartment buildings would have been empty for a long time. But this has not happened yet – after all, owning a private house entails certain difficulties. Buying a house can be associated with both joys, like a grill in the yard, and a lot of responsibility and spending on roof repairs. The only reason that can keep you from buying a house is a high cost of maintaining of your future roperty. 

The larger the housing, the more expensive it is to maintain it. So, the expenses of the owner of a private house can be divided into the following: repair and maintenance of housing. These are renovation of the facade, periodic painting and processing of wooden structures, maintenance of the roof, etc. Cleaning of housing and house territory. More rooms need to be cleaned, an attic and a basement are also added. In addition, cleaning of a parking space, fence repairs, care of a flower bed, trees and a vegetable garden, lawn mowing are added. This requires the appropriate inventory and consumables. Utility bills and supply of communications. In the warm season, the consumption of cold water increases. There may be difficulties with connecting to water or gas supply, electricity or the Internet. At the same time, it is much easier to use alternative types of heating or green energy in a country house. Burning of firewood, pellets or pressed sawdust, heat pump, solar panels or collectors, wind turbines. But to get savings in the future, significant financial investments will be required first.
